I've just started reading about this medication, Livmarli 9.5mg/ml Solution, 30ml. It's supposed to help with itching caused by certain liver diseases in children. The way it works is fascinating – by blocking a specific protein in the intestines, more bile acids are removed from the body through stool. This lowers the levels of bile acids in the blood and can reduce itching. Has anyone had any experience with this medication, and if so, what should we expect in terms of side effects and overall effectiveness? And what do we know about dosage?

I think it's important to note that while Livmarli can be very effective, the side effects are real and can be severe. It's crucial to monitor your child closely and report any unusual symptoms to your doctor right away. This is especially true for things like liver problems, it is concerning that this could even be a side effect. Also, there are some things that you can do to reduce the risk of dehydration, such as increasing fluid intake and avoiding foods that can worsen diarrhea.

I wish there was more information available about long-term use. I've seen some reports of itching returning after a while, has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if it's something that needs to be taken continuously or if there are other options for long-term management. Someone else mentioned diet adjustments. What kind?

I’m curious about the dosing. Is it a single dose or does it need to be taken multiple times a day? Also, how do we handle missed doses and such? Any tips on managing this would be helpful. I'm just nervous about managing this on top of everything else.

This medication should come with a warning label about the side effects, it makes me emotional to think about what kids have to go through and how hard it is on the family

I can't believe how many side effects there are. I’m not sure if I’d want to risk putting my child through that, especially when there are other options available. I heard there are some recent clinical trials on alternative treatments, I might look into a second opinion.

We started our daughter on Livmarli a few months ago. It's been a lifesaver. Her itching has significantly reduced, and she's much more comfortable. However, we did notice some diarrhea and stomach pain initially, but it subsided after a few weeks. We just keep a close eye on her and report any concerns to her doctor. The doc said that these things can be managed with some simple diet adjustments and hydration strategies, which we are doing.

For those experiencing severe side effects, have you tried speaking to a specialist? Sometimes, a change in the treatment plan can make a big difference. I know someone who had to switch to another medication because of the side effects, but it worked well for them.

I was reading about the side effects and it seems like it can cause some serious issues. Has anyone experienced any of the urgent side effects like allergic reactions or liver problems? I'm really concerned about these things. The doc said it's rare but that's not very helpful when googling

I've heard great things about Livmarli, itching can be debilitating and treatment is limited
