I've been taking Loestrin FE 1.5/30 Tablets 28s for a few months now, and while it's been effective in preventing pregnancy, I've had some concerning side effects. The iron pills during the inactive week were supposed to help with my usual anemia, but I've been experiencing severe headaches, dizziness, and changes in my menstrual cycle. I've also had some mood swings and a bit of weight gain. The serious side effects listed are scary — I had no idea something like a blood clot or liver problems could be a risk. I've been trying to stay positive and manage my side effects, but I'm wondering if others have had similar experiences or if there's a better alternative. Also, I'm curious how the iron pills are supposed to help with iron deficiency if you're not bleeding much during your period because of the pill? Help!

It might take a few tries to find the right birth control pill for you. You have to find out what makes you feel best and works with your body chemistry. I wish you luck!

I've actually had really good experiences with Loestrin FE. I started it after having my daughter and it helped balance out my hormones and regularize my periods. Now I'm using a different brand and my periods are even more regular than they were before.

I've never had a problem with any birth control pills. I'd be terrified of blood clots or liver problems. I'm sticking with condoms, thanks.

I've been on Loestrin FE for a year and haven't had any serious side effects, but I did notice some spotting, which I've heard is common. The iron pills didn't do much for my energy levels, but it's better than nothing, I guess. Maybe you should talk to your doctor about switching to another birth control pill.
