I've been prescribed Lopressor 50mg Tablets (Metoprolol) for managing my high blood pressure, and I wanted to share my experience with this medication. As a beta-blocker, it works by relaxing blood vessels and slowing my heart rate, which has helped improve my outcomes. However, I've experienced some side effects, and I'm curious to hear from others who have taken this medication. Specifically, I'm looking for advice on managing the more common side effects like dizziness, fatigue, and upset stomach. Additionally, I'd like to know if anyone else has had experiences with the more urgent side effects listed, and how they were handled. Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I had a really bad reaction to this drug. My heart rate was really slow and I had to go to the ER. I was really scared at first, but the doctors were able to stabilize me and now I'm on a different medication. I think I'll just stick to some other drugs for now. Avoided the beta blockers after this incident.

I started taking Lopressor a few months ago and have had some issues with fatigue and weakness. I've tried to manage it by getting more rest and eating well, but I'm still struggling. Anyone have any tips?

Have you tried taking Lopressor with food? It can help with the upset stomach. Also, make sure to stay hydrated and avoid sudden changes in posture to minimize dizziness.

Be very careful with this stuff. Knowing my history with beta blockers, this stuff just plain made me feel like a zombie. I barely had enough energy to get out of bed. I had to stop taking it and find something else.
