I've been prescribed Lortab 5/325mg for chronic pain, and while it's been helpful, I've also experienced some concerning side effects. Has anyone else had similar issues, particularly with breathing difficulties and overall drowsiness? I know these are listed as possible side effects, but I can't shake the feeling that something more serious might be happening. I've also looked up the possibility of serotonin syndrome, which really worries me. What are some strategies to manage these side effects and ensure I'm not putting myself at risk?

Check out the FDA side effect reporting site. You can report what you're experiencing and it might help others in the future.

Seriously, if you're experiencing severe side effects, talk to your doctor. They can adjust your dosage or switch you to a different medication.

The drowsiness is no joke. I can't drive for the first few hours after taking it. Always make sure you have someone who can pick you up if needed.

I've had trouble with this pill as well. My doctor recommended taking a stool softener and drinking more water. It helps with the constipation but making the changes in the first place was tough. Talk to your doc about it. They aren't there to judge you, just to help.

Serotonin syndrome is serious stuff. If you start experiencing agitation, confusion, or hallucinations, get to the ER ASAP. It can be life-threatening.

I've been on Lortab for a few months now, and while it does help with the pain, the side effects are brutal. I constantly feel like I'm walking through a fog, and the constipation is the worst. But my doctor keeps reassuring me that it's normal. Has anyone else experienced this?

This is why I switched to physical therapy and other non-opioid therapies. Way too many risks with these kinds of drugs.

Yeah, the constipation is terrible. I've started taking psyllium husk daily to help. Not perfect, but better than before.

I feel like the side effects are a bit glossed over in the prescribing info. I've had issues with drowsiness and constipation, it's awful. But I'm not one to slander a drug, everyone has different levels of tolerance, I guess.
