I've recently been prescribed Losartan/HCTZ 100/25mg tablets for high blood pressure, and I'm curious to hear from others who have been on this combination. How has it worked for you? Have you experienced any side effects, and if so, how has your doctor managed them? I'm particularly interested in hearing about any long-term effects or things to watch out for. Additionally, I've read about the possibility of eye problems and increased risk of skin cancer. Are these concerns overblown, or should I be really concerned?

I've been diligent about taking my meds and monitoring my symptoms, but I don't have much experience with these specific side effects so any personal experiences or advice would be great to hear. Thank you!

I had a severe reaction to this medication, so please be careful. It was terrifying, and I ended up in the ER. My doctor switched me to something else, and it's been fine since. Not everyone has this reaction, but it's worth being aware.

I've been on this combo for a couple of months and it's been a lifesaver. My blood pressure is under control and I haven't had any major side effects. Just a bit of dizziness at first, but that went away. Definitely worth talking to your doctor about.

I've been on it for a while and really appreciate the control it gives me over my BP, but I've had some serious eye issues lately. I'm not saying it's from the meds for sure, but it's something to keep in mind. I've been consulting with an eye doctor and will switch meds if it's needed, so keep an eye on that!

Be sure to drink plenty of water and monitor your electrolytes. I had some muscle cramps at first, but that was easily fixed. Also, I've been religious about my skin checks since I know there's a risk.

I've been on it for a month, and never have I been happier to pee 15 times a day. Great stuff. I've not had any real issues other than feeling a bit tired during the day, but my BP is well under control. It's all good!

I just got this prescribed today. I wish someone could update me on a timeline. I am very nervous about the side effects, especially the severe ones. What's a fair amount of time to wait and see how it's affecting me before deciding to say something to my doctor?

I've had some insights into the skin cancer thing. It's rare, but one of my family members who was on a similar medication got a malignant melanoma on their arm last year. True story. Check your skin. You really can't be too careful.

I switched to this from another BP med and it's been a noticeable improvement. No more constant headaches! Just a word of caution, though, it can really mess with your peeing schedule. I've had to wake up a couple of times in the night.

I started taking this after switching from Lisinopril. I did notice quite a bit more dizziness and my back has been killing me. I've only been on it for a couple of weeks, so I'm going to give it a bit more time before I say anything to my doc. Anyone else feel this way?

I've been taking these for about a year now and haven't had any major issues. Just some occasional dizziness, but nothing too bad. My doctor monitored my kidney function regularly, and it's all fine so far. I'd say give it a fair shot, but keep an eye out for any weird symptoms.
