I was prescribed Lotemax 0.5% Ophthalmic Ointment after my recent eye surgery. It's been a few days, and while it's helping with the swelling, I'm noticing some discomfort. I've read about possible side effects, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced similar issues and how they've managed them. Have any of you had any adverse reactions, and if so, what did you do?

I'm also curious about the long-term effects and if anyone has any insights on how to deal with the short-term pain after using the medication. Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure to keep the ointment away from your nose and ears. I made the mistake of getting some in my ear and it was miserable!

I had to use this after eye surgery. I had to use it for months to help my eye recover. It was a bit irritating but it was necessary for recovery. My doctor said I was lucky because it could have been worse. It was a little hard to get to my eye since I have really small eyelids and it's hard to get my finger in there. A couple of times I almost poked myself in the eye.

People with sensitive eyes should be extra careful with Lotemax. I had a friend who had a severe reaction and ended up in the ER. It's not something to mess around with.

Be careful with this stuff. I had some serious eye irritation and it was scary. I had to call my doctor right away and they switched me to something else.

I had a similar experience with Lotemax after my cataract surgery. The side effects were minimal for me, but I did have some discomfort. Talk to your doctor; they can adjust the dosage or switch you to a different medication if the side effects are too much to handle.

I used Lotemax and was fine, what's the big deal? Just do what the doc tells you and you'll be good.

I had a really bad allergic reaction to Lotemax. My eyes were swollen and red. I had to get a prescription for a different eye ointment and it took a week or so to calm down.

Lotemax can be a bit harsh on the eyes. Make sure you're using it exactly as prescribed and keep an eye out for any severe reactions. If you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, seek medical help immediately. It's always better to be safe!

Short-term pain is common, but it should go away quickly. If it persists, contact your doctor. I used Lotemax for a week after my LASIK surgery and had a bit of irritation, but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle. Just be patient and follow your doctor's instructions.
