I was recently prescribed Loteprednol 0.5% Opth Susp 15ml for eye inflammation after cataract surgery. The doctor said it would reduce the swelling and redness, and so far, it seems to be working. However, I'm a bit worried about the potential side effects, especially the serious ones. Has anyone else used this and experienced any issues? How can I tell if something is a normal reaction or something more serious?

I found the list of side effects a bit overwhelming, especially since some of them are potentially life-threatening. I know it's important to contact my doctor immediately if I experience any allergic reactions or severe eye irritation, but I'm wondering if anyone has had mild side effects that went away on their own.

I am also concerned about the long-term effects of using this medication. I've only been on it for a week, and I'm hopeful that my eyes will heal quickly, so I won't need it for too much longer. However, I am curious to know if anyone has used it for extended periods and what their experiences were like.

This is the worst, I had to rub my eyes a lot after using it. I had to start using an emollient eye drops to stop that.

I used Loteprednol after my LASIK surgery and it worked wonders. I did have some blurred vision and sensitivity to light, but my doctor said that was normal. Just make sure to wear sunglasses and avoid bright lights as much as possible.

Man, I thought I was having an allergic reaction when I first started using this. Turns out it was just a bit of irritation that went away after a few days. I was so relieved. I suggest always keeping some eye wash and a cold compress around.

I had a really bad reaction to this stuff. My eyes turned redder than before I started using it, and I had to stop immediately. It was a huge hassle, but my doctor switched me to a different medication and things got better.

I used this after eye surgery. It helped, but I had to deal with some blurriness and a burning sensation for a few days. Make sure you talk to your doctor before stopping the medication, even if you have side effects.

I’m curious, how often are you supposed to use these drops? I use mine 3 times a day as prescribed but it feels like too much for my eyes.

I had a headache and a runny nose for a solid week. But when my eyes started to clear up, I stopped even noticing those side effects. Really glad I stuck it out.

Be on the lookout for unusual eye pain, that could be a serious issue. It's better to be safe and call your doctor if you notice anything that feels off.
