I've been struggling with eye allergies for years, and recently, my doctor prescribed Loteprednol 0.5% Opth Susp 15ml. It's a steroid eye drop designed to reduce swelling, redness, and itching. I've been using it for a week now, and while it's helped with the itching, I'm experiencing some side effects like dryness and blurred vision. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences with this medication. I've been really worried about the more serious side effects listed, like changes in eyesight or severe eye irritation. Has anyone else had these issues and if so how did you handle them? Also what should I do if I experience them? The warning list is extensive and scary, so I'm looking for some reassurance or advice from those who have used this before.

Give it a few more days, if your symptoms aren't improving. It can take some time for the medication to fully kick in. You may also want to discuss with your doctor if you can switch to a different steroid or a combination medication that also includes an antihistamine for allergy relief. It might help with your symptoms better.

I've been using Loteprednol for a few days, but it seems like my symptoms are getting worse, not better. Should I stop using it or keep going?

I've had a similar experience with Loteprednol. The side effects were manageable, but I definitely felt like the benefits outweighed the drawbacks. As for the serious side effects, I didn't experience any of those, but it's always good to be cautious. If you do experience something serious, definitely consult your doctor immediately.

Hope you feel better soon! If not you can always ask your doctor for a different eye drop

I've had no issues with Loteprednol, but I've had issues with other eye drops. They either didn't work, or worse, made my eyes sting and burn. Loteprednol is working for me, so hopefully, it clicks for you too!

I have a question: does anyone know if you can use Loteprednol while wearing contact lenses? I feel like I have more allergies when I wear them...

I had severe eye irritation and changes in vision. Ended up stopping the medication and my doctor switched me to a different one.

I felt the burning sensation from Loteprednol at first, but it went away after a few days. Just wanted to point out, do NOT put in more drops than prescribed. It can increase the risk of side effects.

Did your doctor explain how to store it? I think it has to be refrigerated. Not sure though.
