I've been using Loteprednol 0.5% Opth Susp 5ml for a few weeks now to deal with some persistent eye irritation after an allergy flare-up. I'm supposed to continue using it for a while to help my eyes but I’m a bit concerned about the side effects, especially the urgent ones. I'm getting a bit alarmed because I've been experiencing some mild pain and a burning sensation when I use the drops. It seems to be minor, but I can't decide if I should be concerned about it or if it's just a regular part of the healing process. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Also, how do I know if something is seriously wrong? I want to avoid any life-threatening complications from these drops. I'd appreciate any advice or shared experiences from people who have been through this.

I use sunglasses when it's bright outside to ease the sensitivity to bright lights. I guess my eyes are just more sensitive to light when using these drops. It made me less irritated and more comfortable.

Avoid allergy triggers while you are taking these drops. I also used a humidifier in my room to help with dry eyes, which seemed to help a bit. I also suggest checking with your doctor to see if you can use artificial tears to help with the dryness. I think I just needed more time for my eyes to fully recover from the surgery. I noticed it was better when I was a bit more careful with the drops and when they mentioned to not get white stuff on the dropper tip.

Me and my eyes feel so much better. I was worried when I first got the drops but it went away quickly and I was super happy to have better vision.

I think I had the same experience, I think the name of the stuff on the tip they don't want on the tip is preservatives. That made the burning worse for me, but it was just a bit worse. I tried to be careful and it didn't get worse. I am not sure if I had any other problems, like the burning sensation of Otoprednol.

I felt like something was always in my eye when I started using it. It was annoying, but it went away after a week. As for the blurred vision, it might just be temporary. I found that blinking a few times helped clear it up.

My doctor told me the burning sensation is normal and a sign the medication is working. Your eyes may even get itchy or worse after a few hours. Her words made me feel better, but I'm still a bit worried. But if it was bad I would have gotten a call from a doctor nurse or something. Just yesterday, I got a call from my doctor and they are happy the medication is working well. I just need to be patient.

I think these drops are very helpful. I'm just trying to be careful with them. I'm going to follow all of the instructions on the bottle very carefully.
