Hello everyone, I'm new here and really looking for some advice. My 7-year-old has just been prescribed Lupron Depot-Ped 30mg for Central Precocious Puberty. I'm feeling overwhelmed by the potential side effects and would love to hear from other parents who have gone through this. What were your experiences like? How did you manage the side effects? Any tips or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone else noticed weight gain? My daughter has put on a few pounds, and I'm not sure if it's from the medication or just growth.

My son had a bit of irritation at the injection site, but overall, he's been doing well. The biggest challenge was explaining to him why he needed the shots. We found a kids' book about puberty that helped a lot. As for side effects, keep an eye out for any changes in mood or behavior. It's important to document everything and share it with the doctor.

Hot flashes are definitely a thing. Our daughter sweats through her clothes at night. We've been using cooling sheets and keeping her room extra cool. Good luck to parents going through this. None of us asked for this but here we are, dealing with it.

Can anyone recommend a good pediatric endocrinologist? We're having trouble finding one in our area who specializes in Central Precocious Puberty.

My son had a bad reaction to Lupron Depot-Ped 30mg Inj/3 Mth Kit, very bad bone pain. We had to switch to a different medication. It was not fun. Stay vigilant and pay attention to their cues, because kids can't always tell you how they feel.

My daughter had a few episodes of crying about her looks, depression that hits her with a wave but not all the time for me personally the ups and downs were weird but she's a kid and it's Lupron who makes her feel that way. Keep your chin up, it gets better. You know parents are all somewhat the same, we just want the best for our kids.

We started Lupron for our daughter a few months ago. The first few weeks were tough with some mood swings and hot flashes, but she's adjusted well now. Just make sure to keep a close eye on any unusual symptoms and stay in touch with your pediatric endocrinologist. You got this!
