Just started Lurasidone and I'm already feeling so much better. The side effects aren't terrible, but the weight gain is something I’m closely monitoring.
I have the opposite problem. I've lost weight since starting Lurasidone. I'm more tired and have trouble focusing but I haven't lost much weight but I've gained some. But I have gained some weight and it has affected me a lot. It's not something I expected. However, the rest of the side effects have been manageable for me.
Ive been on Lurasidone for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer. My psychiatrist told me to take it with a hearty meal, and it really helps with the nausea. The side effects were tough at first—dizziness and fatigue—but they've mostly subsided.
I've had a mixed experience. The mental health benefits are clear, but the side effects like drooling and trouble swallowing have been really tough. I've resorted to smaller meals and smaller snacks but it seems to be helping. I've been lucky in that I've only had a few minor side effects.
I've been on Lurasidone for a year now, and the hormonal changes have been the hardest part. My nails are brittle and I've had a hard time with making them look nice. I've had menstrual changes and I've had trouble with the hormonal changes. I'm also noticing I'm getting acne more easily.
My doctor mentioned something about neuroleptic malignant syndrome. Is that something I should be really worried about?
I switched to Lurasidone from another medication, and the difference has been night and day. I had trouble swallowing and severe dizziness in the beginning, but it has all gone away. I had to switch pharmacies because of the high cost. I was worried about a new pharmacy but it was all good and I was able to fill my prescription at a cheaper price
I think Lurasidone is a good choice for anyone dealing with schizophrenia. I've noticed it works best when taken with a meal, and the side effects are manageable. But it's important to talk to your doctor if you experience any serious symptoms.
Has anyone else experienced significant weight gain? I've put on about 15 pounds in the last two months, and I'm starting to worry.
