Tegsedi is a groundbreaking medicine used to treat hereditary transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis (hATTR), a rare genetic disease where the body produces a faulty protein called TTR that accumulates in organs and causes damage. Tegsedi works by reducing the amount of this faulty TTR protein, thereby slowing down the disease's progression. However, like any powerful medication, Tegsedi comes with a range of side effects, some of which can be severe. Urgent side effects include signs of an allergic reaction, liver problems, and neurological symptoms like confusion, muscle pain, and abnormal heartbeats. Other possible side effects include injection site reactions, upset stomach, headaches, and fatigue. I'm here to share my experience and get advice from others who might be on this medication. How do you manage the side effects of Tegsedi?

I was pretty nervous about the potential for severe side effects, but my doctor assured me that these are rare. Still, it's important to be vigilant and report any unusual symptoms right away.

I've had some issues with muscle spasms and back pain. My doctor suggested physical therapy, and it's been a tremendous help. Definitely worth discussing with your healthcare provider.

I wish they had a pill form! Injections are no fun.

I've been lucky to have fairly mild side effects so far. Just some occasional headaches and stomach issues. Keeping hydrated and eating smaller, more frequent meals has helped.

I've been on Tegsedi for a few months now, and the injection site reactions have been pretty rough. Anyone have tips for minimizing the pain and redness?

Does anyone else struggle with fatigue? I feel like I'm always tired, and it's been affecting my daily activities.

I had a bad experience with an allergic reaction early on. It was scary, but my doctors were quick to adjust my treatment plan. Still, it's important to be aware of the signs and act fast.

Tegsedi has been a game-changer for me. The side effects are manageable, and the relief from the symptoms of hATTR is worth it.

I have found that keeping a close eye on my liver function tests has helped a lot. My doctor recommended regular check-ups to monitor for any signs of liver problems. It's a bit of a hassle, but it gives me peace of mind knowing I'm staying on top of it.
