I recently had a procedure where Marcaine 0.75% Spinal Inj, 2ml was used for anesthesia. The injection worked well, but I experienced some unexpected side effects. I'm curious to know if anyone else has had similar experiences. The medication is supposed to block nerve signals in the lower body, and it did just that. However, I felt extremely lightheaded and had a metallic taste in my mouth. I also experienced numbness in my mouth and legs, which worried me. The injection itself wasn’t too painful, but the after-effects were a bit unsettling. The doctor assured me these are common side effects, but I'd like to hear from others to be more at ease. Any advice on managing these side effects would be great too.

I’ve had spinal injections with Marcaine and never experienced any of these side effects. Maybe it just depends on the individual and their body’s reaction to the drug. Always communicate these concerns to your doctor though , as they can provide tailored advice.

Beware of the burning sensation in the lower body. It lasted for a few days after my procedure, and it was pretty uncomfortable. But overall, it kept me relaxed during the surgery.

The injection is not the worst part; it’s the recovery. I felt like I couldn't breathe properly for a few hours after the procedure. It sucked, but I was completely numbed below the waist and felt no pain. The worst part was the tingling that lasted for hours.

I had a really bad experience with this. I felt my heart racing and had severe headaches. I had to go to the ER. I think I might have had an allergic reaction. It’s scary stuff.

Marcaine is great for procedures but the side effects can be rough. I had the weird metallic taste too, and it lasted for a few hours. Just make sure to stay hydrated and take it easy for the rest of the day.

The lightheadedness you experienced is not uncommon. It can occur due to the rapid blockage of nerve signals. While it’s disorienting, it should subside as the medication wears off. Make sure to rest and stay hydrated.

For those who are pregnant, be aware that Marcaine can have effects on the fetus. Please talk to your anesthesiologist if you have any concerns. Always err on the side of caution.

I had a spinal injection with Marcaine for a C-section. I felt numb from the waist down and couldn’t move my legs. It was a bit scary but the pain relief was worth it. Recovery was smooth, though.
