I have an upcoming procedure where I will be given Marcaine/epinephrine 0.5% Inj, 10ml as a local anesthetic. I'm a bit nervous about the side effects, especially the more serious ones. I've read about methemoglobinemia and acidosis, but I'm not sure how common these are or if there are any early warning signs I should look out for. Has anyone had experience with this drug? How was your experience, and what side effects did you encounter? I want to be as prepared as possible. Also, I'm curious if anyone has any tips on how to manage the more common side effects like dizziness or numbness?

I had a terrible reaction and have methemoglobinemia, not sure if it was caused by the Marcaine. Due to my experience, I am hesitant to take it again. I would recommend being extra cautious, especially if you have a history of allergic reactions. Make sure your doctor is aware of any allergies you have.

I had a similar experience with Marcaine during a minor surgery. The procedure went smoothly, but I experienced some dizziness and a bit of a metallic taste in my mouth. My doctor assured me these were common side effects and would subside quickly. For me, it did.

I got this for dental work and it was great! It made sure I didn't feel a thing, but I was a bit shaky afterwards. Just make sure to stay hydrated and relax.

Prepare for a bit of a jittery feeling and a slightly racing heart. It's not pleasant, but it's also not very long-lasting. Joke aside, it's really important to listen to your body and report any strange or severe symptoms to your doctor.

Would love to know if anyone has experienced any long-term effects. Like, can it make you more prone to injury or pain in that area? My procedure was several months ago and I'm still feeling a bit off.
