I've been using Dextrose 50% Injection for my hypoglycemia episodes, and it's been a lifesaver most of the time. However, last week, I got a crazy rash and hives all over my body. I also started feeling dizzy and confused. Right away, I knew something was off—and I checked the side effects list on the package. Sure enough, I had a severe reaction! I had to rush to the ER and spent the night there. I'm sharing this because I couldn't find much info on this specific injection when I needed it most. Has anyone else had similar issues? I want to know if I should be worried about future treatments or if this was a one-time thing.

I had a similar experience. I had a seizure and the doctors couldn't figure out why. Later on we connected it to one of these injections. I need to find another way to manage my blood sugar.

Wow, that sounds terrifying. I've used Dextrose 50% Injection a few times and never had any issues, but now I'm kind of scared. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I had a bad reaction once too, but it was just mild dizziness. My doctor said it was probably due to the injection being given too quickly. Are you sure the nurse didn't go too fast?
