I've been using the Medroxyprogesterone injection for the past year as a form of birth control. It's convenient because I only need to get a shot every three months, and it's been effective so far. However, I've noticed some side effects like weight gain and mood swings. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Are there any tips for managing these side effects? Also, I'm curious about the long-term effects of this medication. Is anyone aware of any studies or information about its impact on fertility after stopping the injections?

Totally agree! The convenience factor is huge, especially for someone with a crazy schedule like me. Definitely helps to take that stress off my plate.

Can someone explain how long the withdrawal effects last after stopping the shots? I'm thinking about switching to a different method but I'm worried about the aftermath.

Itching at the injection site was my main complaint initially, but it went away after a few shots. I’ve also noticed some breast tenderness, but overall, it’s been a good experience for me. I would highly recommend talking to your doctor about any side effects. They might be able to work with you on finding solutions.

I've been on Medroxyprogesterone for two years and I've experienced weight gain and acne. However, I've also noticed that I have very light periods now. The weight gain can be frustrating, but it's manageable with diet and exercise. As for long-term effects, I haven't seen any significant changes in my fertility so far. Consulting with a healthcare provider can provide more personalized information.

I've been on Depo Provera for years and honestly, the weight gain was a huge bummer. But I think it's worth it for the convenience factor. Also, I noticed some hair loss, but it's not too bad. It's a small price to pay for the peace of mind.

I had a bit of a headache and nausea after getting my first shot, but it was pretty mild and went away after a day. I haven't noticed any big issues so far.
