So I've been taking Melatonin 1mg tablets for a few months now, and I've noticed some significant improvements in my sleep pattern. As someone who suffers from jet lag due to frequent travel and shift work, these tablets have been a lifesaver. However, I've also experienced some side effects like headaches and throat irritation which can get really annoying sometimes. I heard that some people experience more severe side effects like allergic reactions and I'm just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences? Also, does anyone know about the correct dosage? I've heard mixed things about how much you should take. I took 2mg for a few nights and thought it was helping but then woke up very groggy the next day. Please share your experiences and any tips you might have!

Thanks for sharing your experience! I've been considering taking melatonin for my jet lag, but I'm a bit worried about the side effects. Have you tried any natural remedies that might help?

I've had some severe allergic reactions to melatonin before, so I stay away from it now. Just a heads up to anyone thinking of trying it. If you get a rash, hives or any other signs of an allergic reaction get to a doctor immediately. Could ruin your night in more ways than one.

Melatonin can be life-changing, but it's important to remember that it's not a magic pill. You still need to have good sleep hygiene—like avoiding screens before bed and keeping a consistent sleep schedule. I've found that combining melatonin with a relaxing bedtime routine works best for me.

I don’t think melatonin is the best for long-term use. I took it for a month straight, and it worked great, but then my body just stopped responding to it. I think it's best for short-term use. But then again, I don't have a problem with sleep issues as long as I don't drink coffee after 2PM and get into bed by 11. So, YMMV.

For me, melatonin is a must when traveling across time zones. It helps reset my sleep cycle and makes jet lag a lot more manageable. It's irritating when it gives me a headache though. Just have to remind myself that it's not permanent and it helps me sleep. Definitely worth it.

Melatonin really helped me with my sleep issues, but I noticed that if I take it too late, I wake up feeling groggy. It's all about timing. I usually set a reminder on my phone to take it an hour before bed. I have to take it earlier if I've had caffeine. And watch out for the dose. I've taken 1mg for years, and I've never had a problem, but I've heard crazy stories of people taking 3mg and waking up feeling like they've been hit by a truck. Honestly, start with 1mg, and see where you go from there.

I've been taking melatonin for years, and it's been a game-changer for my sleep schedule. I usually take 1mg about an hour before bed, and it works like a charm. But yeah, the headaches can be a pain. Make sure to stay hydrated and consider taking the smallest dose possible. I don't think I'd ever go up to 2mg again. Ever since I went up a dose I've felt really off the next day.
