I recently started taking Meloxicam 10mg capsules for arthritis pain, but I'm worried about the potential side effects listed on the medication guide. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences and any tips for managing side effects. Additionally, are there any alternative NSAIDs that are gentler on the stomach but still effective for arthritis pain? I'm looking for the best options for long-term pain management.

I didn't know about the kidney issues! I’ve been taking this for a while, but I’ll have to keep a closer eye on that, thanks for the heads up.

This discussion might be useful for someone else with side effects, or maybe my doctor. I'll share it with my doctor at my next appointment, and any updates will be a great follow up for this post. Thanks for posting, OP!

I've been on Meloxicam for a few months now, and it's done wonders for my arthritis pain. I only get mild stomach discomfort, which I manage with antacids. The side effects are scary, but they're rare, and the benefit outweighs the risk for me. I'd discuss them with your doctor, though.

If you're worried about the side effects, ask your doctor about other options or lower dosages. Might be worth it to try something else if this is too much. I used to take Naproxen and it was great for me. Your mileage may vary, as they say.

Be very careful with these. I had to go to the ER because of a severe allergic reaction. Turns out I'm allergic to NSAIDs. Now I'm on a different pain management plan. Make sure you know the signs of an allergic reaction. If you experience any symptoms that make you think you’re having an allergic reaction, go to the hospital. Don't wait it out. Your doctor won’t be mad at you for being cautious, but you may regret not going if it gets worse.

I had high blood potassium levels, which is scary. I ended up with dizziness and numbness. I had to get it treated right away.

I’ve had general weakness and fatigue. Not sure if it’s from the meds or just the arthritis. It’s frustrating because I can’t tell if it’s worth it or not.

I switched from Meloxicam to Celecoxib because of the potential side effects. Celecoxib is supposed to be easier on the stomach, but it’s a bit pricier. However, some people say they don’t see any difference at all.

I find that taking Meloxicam with food helps a lot with stomach issues. If you don't want to take antacids, give that a try. It might help with ulcers or other digestive problems.
