I recently started using Mentax 1% Cream to treat my athlete's foot and jock itch. I've had some success, but I'm also experiencing some side effects that I didn't expect. Has anyone else used this cream, and what was your experience? I'm curious to know how common these side effects are and if there are any tips for managing them. I've been applying it daily as directed, but the skin irritation is pretty bad. I've been concerned about allergic reactions, but I'm not sure if what I'm experiencing qualifies. Does anyone have any advice on what to do next? Should I contact my doctor or just wait it out? I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing, so any insights would be greatly appreciated. Any tips for using Mentax would be great, to mitigate the side effects or use the product more efficiently.

I think the key is to not overuse it. Only apply a thin layer and don’t overdo it. My doctor said that people tend to overuse it which can cause a lot of discomfort. Just be patient and follow the instructions carefully. You should be fine eventually. Then when you do use it, make sure to keep it to the affected area and wash your hands afterwards. I hope your skin gets better. Sorry to hear that it's not great right now

I've never had any issues with Mentax. It’s always worked well for me. Maybe your skin is extra sensitive? Have you tried any other treatments before?

I used Mentax for my jock itch and it worked like a charm! No side effects here, but I did make sure to wash my hands thoroughly after applying it. No dousing, just a thin layer

I've used Mentax for years. It really works but I just take care to use a little bit at a time and wash everything off my hands immediately. Don't mess around. If it's not getting better, tell your doctor

I've heard mixed reviews about Mentax. Some people love it, some people hate it. Just depends on your skin type, I guess. You might have to try something else if this doesn't work out. Did you get a prescription or is this an over the counter thing?
