If you are taking Meropenem, you might want to make sure you have some Imodium on hand, just in case. And yes, it's super important to stay in touch with your doctor.

I was recently put on Meropenem for a severe infection and it worked like a charm. Just be aware of the side effects, especially the severe ones. I had a bit of nausea but nothing too bad.

Anyone else notice that their doctor had to keep switching up the antibiotics until the infection went away? I had to deal with some of the most horrendous side effects from different antibiotics before finally landing on Meropenem.

Just got off Meropenem for a serious skin infection. Thank goodness it worked, but I had to deal with constant diarrhea. It’s tough to manage, but my doctor said it’s a common side effect. Definitely stay hydrated!

I never want to do this again! Too much drama with the side effects.

Remember, if you experience any severe side effects, get medical help immediately. Don't wait it out. The signs of an allergic reaction can come on fast and fierce.

This thread should have a big disclaimer saying, 'Do not try this at home.' If you’re dealing with severe infections in super sensitive areas, your doctor should be consulted every single step of the way. The side effects are serious.

This medication is a last resort for a reason. The side effects can be really scary. I had a friend who developed some really bad muscle problems. It’s important to monitor closely if you or someone you know is on this.

I got put on Meropenem when I had a severe abdominal infection. It was the only thing strong enough to fight it, but the constant nausea and diarrhea were tough to handle. Staying hydrated and eating light was key for me.
