Be careful with this stuff. I had some weird skin reactions and my doctor freaked out. Turns out it was a rare but serious reaction. Make sure you know the signs!
I had to stop taking Mesalamine because it gave me kidney problems. I had blood in my urine and back pain, which was scary. If you notice anything like that, don't wait—go to the ER.
I've had no issues with Mesalamine so far. Just a bit of nausea sometimes, but it's manageable. I'm glad I found a medication that works for me!
I've been on Mesalamine for a few months now, and it's been a mixed bag. On one hand, it's helped my UC symptoms tremendously. On the other hand, I've had some pretty nasty side effects. I've had diarrhea, stomach pain, and even some dizziness. My doctor recommended taking it with food, which seems to help a bit. Has anyone else had similar issues?
I'm on my second week of Mesalamine and so far, so good. No major side effects, just a bit of gas. Fingers crossed it stays this way!
