I was recently prescribed Mesalamine Rectal Susp 7x60ml for my ulcerative colitis, and I wanted to share my experience so far. The medication is supposed to reduce inflammation directly in the colon and rectum, which has been a game-changer for me. I've noticed a significant decrease in symptoms like abdominal pain and bloody stools. However, I've also experienced some side effects like rectal irritation and occasional headaches, which can be frustrating. I wanted to know if anyone else has had similar experiences and if there are any tips for managing these side effects. Additionally, the list of serious side effects is quite concerning—the thought of something like kidney problems or an allergic reaction can be scary. Has anyone else had to deal with these, or is it mostly just the milder side effects? I'm really hoping that this medication continues to work for me, but I'd love to hear from others to get a better understanding of what to expect.

I've had some really bad headaches since starting this. My doctor said it could be a side effect, but I'm not sure if I want to deal with it anymore. I'm thinking of switching. Has anyone else dealt with this?

I've been on Mesalamine for years now and I'm doing great. I've had some minor side effects, but nothing I can't handle. It's worth it to keep my ulcerative colitis under control.

I don't think the benefits outweigh the risks for me. I've had too many side effects to continue with this medication. I'm going to look for other options.

I've been on this for a while and I've never had any issues. I think it's worth the shot, especially if it works for you. Just pay attention to the side effects and talk to your doctor.
