Metformin 500mg Tablets: The Experience of Taking for Type 2 Diabetes
I've been prescribed Metformin 500mg Tablets for my type 2 diabetes, and it's been a bit of a journey so far. The doctor explained that it helps my body use insulin better, and I've felt less hungry and more energetic but also I've experienced some gas and heartburn. I know these are common side effects, but i'd love to hear from others who have gone through the same thing. I'm curious to know if anyone else had these same side effects, or if I'm in this alone. I've been trying to take it with meals, as recommended, and it seems to help a bit. Has anyone found any tricks to manage the side effects more effectively? Also, I've been wondering, how long does it usually take to see noticeable improvements in blood sugar levels? The doctor said any side effects should be discussed with them, but I'd love to hear personal experiences as well.

I switched to the extended-release version and that helped a lot with the side effects. Might be something to discuss with your doctor.
I took Metformin with food and it really helped with the stomach issues. Also, drinking plenty of water made a big difference for me.
I tried taking it with orange juice and it was ultra effective.
I had some major issues with lactic acidosis, and ended up in the hospital. If you feel really weak, dizzy, or have trouble breathing, go to the ER right away.
