I've been on Metformin ER for about a year now, and it's been a lifesaver for managing my blood sugar levels. It's taken me some time to adjust, but I find that taking it in the evening before bed has helped avoid the common stomach upset side effects most effectively. It made a huge difference for me to take them at night as opposed to the morning.
I had some bad luck with Metformin ER initially. Had some pretty tough stomach issues. My doctor recommended taking it with food, which helped a bit. My body finally got used to it after a few weeks.
Been on it for a few months now. I've had some diarrhea at times, but it's gone away. I'm also eating simpler carbohydrate meals, which I believe really helps.
How long did it take for the side effects to go away for you guys?
I had a weird allergic reaction to Metformin ER. My skin got all itchy and red, and I had trouble breathing. I had to stop taking it immediately and go to the ER.
