I've recently started taking Metformin ER 750mg 24hr Tabs to manage my type 2 diabetes. I was prescribed this extended-release form to take once a day with my evening meal. So far, I've noticed some stomach issues, but I'm not sure if they're side effects of the medication. I've also been a bit worried about the potential for more serious issues like lactic acidosis. Has anyone else experienced similar side effects? How did you handle them? Are there any tips or tricks to make this medication easier to tolerate?

I've heard that diet and exercise can help mitigate some of the side effects. Has anyone found that to be true? How do you manage your diet and exercise routines while on Metformin? If you had to deal with severe side effects, what steps did you take to manage them?

I want to make sure I'm taking this medication as effectively as possible, so any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Give it some time, but if the nausea persists, talk to your doctor. They might adjust the dose or switch you to a different form of Metformin. Trust me, the benefits are worth it.

Just make sure to listen to your body. If something doesn't feel right, it's better to be safe and talk to your doctor. The right diet and exercise can make a huge difference too. My doctor recommended walking for 30 mins a day and it works wonders

Be careful with the lactic acidosis risk. It's rare, but it's serious. Stay hydrated and avoid alcohol. If you feel unusually tired or have muscle pain, talk to your doctor right away.

Metformin can be tough on the stomach, but it's worth it if it helps control blood sugar. I started with a lower dose and gradually increased to 750mg. That helped my body adjust. Also, avoiding carbonated drinks and caffeine has helped me a lot.

I've heard horror stories about Metformin side effects, but I've been lucky so far. Just make sure to monitor your blood sugar levels regularly so you can catch any issues early.

I just started Metformin ER too, and I'm already feeling a bit nauseous. Anyone have any tips for dealing with the nausea?

I had some pretty bad gas issues when I first started, but it got better over time. I also started taking a probiotic, which helped a lot. My doctor suggested it, and it worked for me.

I take Metformin ER 750mg at night with dinner. I mix it with some yogurt/bowl of fruit to ease the digestive process. Helps a lot.

I took Metformin for a while, but the side effects were too much. I switched to a different medication and it's been great. Everyone's different, so don't be afraid to explore other options if this isn't working for you.

I've been on Metformin ER for a few months now and I've had some stomach issues too. I found that taking it with a high-fiber meal really helped. It's not a perfect solution, but it's made a big difference for me. Also, staying hydrated has been crucial. On the positive side, my blood sugar levels have been much more stable.
