I was recently prescribed Methocarbamol 500mg tablets for muscle spasms due to a back injury. The medication has been effective in relieving the discomfort, but I've been feeling extremely tired and weak. I'm not sure if this is a normal side effect or something more serious. I've also heard about some severe side effects, like seizures and changes in vision. Has anyone else experienced these or other serious side effects? I'm a bit worried and want to know if these symptoms are common or if I should seek medical help right away. I tried to do some research but ended up even more confused. I'm glad I found this community and hope someone can shed some light on this. Also, I’m curious how long it typically takes for the side effects to go away if they're within the normal range. Should I be doing anything specific to help manage these side effects?

The metallic taste side effect is real. I felt like I was drinking a mouthful of liquid metal. Gross. Luckily it went away after a few days. Relieved to be past that.

I had a severe allergic reaction to Methocarbamol. Swelling, hives, the whole nine yards. I had to rush to the ER and was told to never take it again. Stay safe out there, and always be aware of the potential for severe reactions. It might be worth it to talk to your doc about alternative medications if you're feeling really sketchy about these side effects.

What's the deal with the metallic taste? I feel like I need a drink of Mountain Dew to chase it away.

I can't believe this medication exists! It’s a lifesaver for muscle spasms, but the side effects can be a real bummer. I’ve had some pretty bad headaches and a stuffy nose, which is annoying because I already can’t breathe well due to my allergy issues. Plus, I think the medication made them worse. I ended up taking some extra allergy medication, and that helped a bit. But I hate dealing with all these extra symptoms.

I've had some trouble sleeping since I started taking Methocarbamol. Anyone else experiencing this? I've tried adjusting my sleep schedule, but it hasn't helped much. It’s a real pain because I'm trying to recover from my injury and the insomnia is making everything worse. Any tips would be appreciated.

I've been on Methocarbamol for a few weeks now, and I've had some dizziness and a bit of drowsiness, but nothing too severe. I think the side effects usually go away within a few days to a week. I've found that staying hydrated and avoiding driving or operating heavy machinery helps manage the dizziness. Be sure to talk to your doctor if the side effects persist or get worse though.
