I've been prescribed Methotrexate 25mg/ml Sdv 2ml for the treatment of severe rheumatoid arthritis and have been trying to get a better understanding of possible side effects, as well as the experiences of others who have taken it. There seems to be a lot of conflicting information online. I'm hoping some of you have taken this medication and can share your experiences, especially with regards to the side effects. How severe were they, and how did you manage them? Also, how long did it take for some of the more common side effects, like hair loss or fatigue, to begin? Any advice for coping with these symptoms would also be greatly appreciated!

I’ve had some really bad experiences with Methotrexate. I had to deal with a lot of nausea and vomiting, plus some major stomach pain. Plus, I ended up with a nasty infection that landed me in the hospital. I had to switch to a different treatment because the side effects were just too much to handle. I just wanted to share my story to let everyone know to be extra careful. The warning signs of infection were way worse than I could have imagined.

This is a really good thread. It's so important to be informed about side effects and what to do if you experience them. I hope everyone's doctors are being super attentive to them and their concerns!

I was on Methotrexate for a while, and I actually had to stop because the side effects were too much. But I did find that taking it on an empty stomach with a glass of water helped a lot with the nausea.

I got really bad anxiety while on Methotrexate. It was horrible—I couldn't sleep, I was constantly worrying about everything. I talked to my doctor and we switched to a different medication. It was a nightmare, but I'm glad I did it. I just didn't know that anxiety could be a side effect.
