I was recently prescribed Methyldopa 250mg Tablets to manage my high blood pressure during pregnancy. I was a bit hesitant at first because I had heard about some potential side effects, but my doctor assured me that it's a common and safe choice for pregnant women. I've been taking them for a few weeks now, and while I haven't experienced any severe side effects, I do feel a bit drowsy and fatigued. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'd love to hear your thoughts and any tips you might have for managing these side effects.

The most important thing is to monitor your blood pressure regularly. My doctor had me keep a log of my readings, and it helped both of us understand how the medication was working for me. I'd recommend this to anyone starting on Methyldopa.

Drowsiness is common with this medication. Try to take it at night before bed if possible. It worked for me when I was on it for my BP. It also helps the body get adjusted to the medication, so you might feel less tired as time goes on.

I had some weird bruising when I was on this med. I was freaked out but my doctor said it was just a side effect and to be cautious so it was not too bad.

I was on Methyldopa during my last pregnancy, I also felt drowsy but it went away after a few days

I had a friend who took Methyldopa and she had severe dizziness but she never went to see the doctor. Bad idea!

Make sure to talk to your doctor about any concerns. I had to switch to a different medication because of some side effects, but it was totally manageable with medical guidance.

My mother was on Methyldopa for years before she got pregnant and she never had any issues. Everyone's body is different, though. I'd say just listen to your doctor and pay attention to how your body reacts.

I struggled with the fatigue at first, but my doctor suggested taking short walks and adjusting my diet, and it helped a lot. It helped me feel better and was easier to manage.
