I've been reading about Methylene Blue 1% Inj, 1ml and I'm curious to hear from people who have experience with it. It's used to treat methemoglobinemia, a blood disorder where your blood can't carry enough oxygen. It's also used as a dye during some medical procedures. The side effects list is quite long and concerning, so I'm wondering if anyone has had any adverse reactions or knows someone who has. On the upside, the FDA approved it a long time ago, in 1931; that's a good sign that is has stood the test of time. I'm curious to know if it's terrifying to watch your urine turn blue-green and what other side effects to expect. If you've received it, what was that experience like? Good luck to anyone going through this situation. I hope we can find some good advice for our readers.

Why are so many people talking about their urine colour? I thought this drug was used for oxygenation, not urination. I need to get some perspective on this thread.

I had to have it during a procedure and it's weird to find out that Methylene blue can also act as an antidote to cyanide poisoning!

I've had Methylene Blue before and the blue urine was really disconcerting, but otherwise, I felt fine. I think it's worth the side effects for how it helps with methemoglobinemia.

I had to have a Methylene Blue injection for a medical procedure and was relieved to find out that it's safe and effective. The injection site hurt a bit, but that was the worst of it. I was already in the hospital though, so I wasn't worried about the side effects. I hope everyone else has the same experience.
