Metoprolol ER Succinate 200mg Tabs: My Experience and Side Effects
I've been prescribed Metoprolol ER Succinate 200mg Tabs for high blood pressure and it's been working great for me. The extended-release formula is convenient as I only need to take it once a day. However, I've recently started experiencing some side effects like fatigue and dizziness. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences or if there are ways to mitigate these issues. Also, what should I do if I start feeling short of breath? Do I need to contact my doctor right away or is it something that might pass? I've heard that some people experience depression as a side effect, which is concerning. Has anyone else dealt with this?

You need to be careful about these pills, especially if you have a family history of heart problems. I started feeling like I was having a heart attack but it was just Metoprolol. It was scary.
I started on the 200mg tabs and had some weird chest pains that went away after a few weeks. My doctor said it's common to experience minor chest discomfort when you first start taking these. Don't worry about it unless it gets worse. Also, don't take your dose with grapefruit juice because it can mess with how the medication works. I found this out the hard way...
You might want to talk to your doctor about changing your dosage. Sometimes if you start experiencing side effects, it can help to drop down to 100mg tabs. Just make sure you bring up any concerns you have with your doctor.
I've been on Metoprolol for a while now and I've had a great experience. My blood pressure has stayed under control, and I haven't had any major side effects. Just a bit of fatigue at first.
As a nurse, I can tell you that most of the symptoms you experience when you first start medication can be managed by taking the pills with food and plenty of water. When in doubt, always ask your doctor!
I've had a lot of issues with the extended-release formula. I think it doesn't work as well as regular Metoprolol. I've switched back and I feel better already!
I've heard that some people experience depression as a side effect, but I haven't had that issue. I do get really bad headaches from this medication though, which is annoying. I recommend sticking with it and seeing if it gets better.
I've been on Metoprolol for 5 years now, and while it controls my blood pressure well, I do have some side effects. I've noticed my sex drive has diminished and I get incredibly lightheaded if I stand up too fast. I wish my doctor had warned me about these things.
I've had a really tough time with these pills. I've tried several variations and dosages, but I always end up feeling like I have the flu. I wish there was something better out there for me.
