Metoprolol ER Succinate 50mg Tabs: My experience so far and some questions...
So, I recently started taking Metoprolol ER Succinate 50mg Tabs for my high blood pressure and angina. I'm on the extended-release version, so I only take it once a day. I've noticed some side effects, but nothing too severe so far. Just some mild dizziness and fatigue. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced these or other side effects? Also, how long did it take for you to see improvements in your symptoms? I'm still waiting for my blood pressure to stabilize. Has anyone else dealt with these issues? Any tips on managing the side effects would be appreciated.
On a side note, my doctor mentioned that Metoprolol can affect my blood sugar levels. I'm not diabetic, but I'm still a bit concerned. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance for any advice or insights. I'm just trying to get a better understanding of what to expect.
I have been reading about all the rare but potentially life-threatening side effects. I'm trying not to worry too much, but it's hard not to be a bit anxious. I wish there was more information out there about the long-term effects of this medication. Has anyone had any issues with long-term use?
I have also been curious about how this medication interacts with other common medications, like ibuprofen, and other over-the-counter pain relievers, as I sometimes need to take them for my migraines. I was told that I need to be careful with beta-blockers and NSAIDs. I'm not sure what I can take safely while on the Metoprolol. Does anyone have any advice?

I've been on Metoprolol ER for a few months. I haven't had any major side effects, but I did gain some weight. I'm a bit concerned, but my doctor said it might be due to fluid retention and that I should monitor my symptoms and contact if my ankles swell or any other abnormalities occur.
I've been on Metoprolol for a few years now, and it's been a good tool in managing my blood pressure and angina. I've noticed the dizziness and fatigue mostly, but it really helped me manage my heart rate and anxiety.
I'm on a lower dose, 25mg, but I still experience dizziness, especially when I stand up too quickly. I've started drinking more water and eating smaller, more frequent meals, and it seems to help.
I've been on Metoprolol ER for a few months now, and the dizziness went away after a couple of weeks. It's important to take it at the same time every day. It can take a few weeks to see improvements in blood pressure, so hang in there.
My doctor suggested taking it at night with a light snack since it can cause low blood sugar, especially when you first start taking it, which helped a lot.
