I've been prescribed Metoprolol HCT 50/25mg Tablets for my high blood pressure, and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the list of possible side effects. Has anyone else taken this medication? What were your experiences like? I'm particularly concerned about the serious side effects listed, like signs of high blood sugar and kidney problems. I want to be prepared, but I'm also hoping that these are rare and I won't have to worry about them. I am wondering at what point I should contact my doctor. I've read that the combination of Metoprolol and Hydrochlorothiazide can be very effective, but I want to make sure I'm taking it safely. Any tips or advice from those who have taken it would be greatly appreciated!

Serious side effects aside, the flu-like symptoms were a bummer. I felt like I was coming down with something for a week. But now, it's just dizziness and lightheadedness, which I can live with to keep my blood pressure in check.

I was really worried about the skin cancer risk at first, but my doctor said as long as I use sunscreen and cover up, I'll be okay. It's rare, but it's good to be prepared.

I took Metoprolol before and it worked wonders for my heart rate, but the Hydrochlorothiazide was a new addition. The water pill part definitely affects how much you have to pee, but it's also been great for my blood pressure. Everyone's experience is different, so stay vigilant!

I thought I was going to have to quit this one because of the chest pains, but I checked with my doctor and the dosage was the problem. I was able to adjust and it's been fine since. Everyone's body is different.

I started feeling dizzy pretty early on, but my doctor adjusted the dosage and it got better. Make sure to keep your doctor in the loop about any changes you feel.

I feel like every medication has risks, so what's the point of worrying about it? The benefits of my blood pressure being controlled are worth it.

I've been taking these for a few months and haven't had any serious side effects, but I'm paranoid. I keep checking moles and any changes in my vision. I think it's the anxiety of being on these meds, but I'd rather be safe!
