MetroGel 1% Topical Gel (Pump) 55gm: My journey with this rosacea treatment and what I've learned
I've been using MetroGel 1% Topical Gel (pump) 55gm for the past few months to treat my rosacea, and I've seen some improvements, but I also have some concerns. First, let me say that this gel has helped reduce the redness and bumps on my face. However, I've experienced some side effects like dry skin and occasional stinging, which can be quite uncomfortable. I've tried to mitigate this by using a gentle moisturizer afterwards, but I'm wondering if anyone else has found a good way to manage these side effects. Additionally, I'm a bit worried about the more serious side effects mentioned in the product information. Has anyone else had any nasty experiences with this medication? And how do you know when to seek medical attention? It's all a bit overwhelming. I think it's important to share our experiences to help others navigate this treatment. I also have been using this product for a few months and must note it can be a bit pricey. Anyone know if there are any over-the-counter alternatives that might work as well?

Have any of you had the gel cause mood changes? I feel like I've been super irritable and tired lately, but I'm not sure if it's the MetroGel or just stress from work. Anyone else have a similar experience?
I had to stop using MetroGel because it was making my skin burn and sting really badly. I tried all the tips to manage the side effects but nothing worked. I guess it's not for everyone. I just started a different rosacea treatment and it's going a lot better. What a hassle!
I've been struggling recently too. I was using MetroGel fine but this past year I've been getting weird red patches around my eyes. I tried to stop using it for a while but that didn't help. I had to go back to my doctor and I think the answer is just to stop using MetroGel and start a new treatment. I'm not sure yet
I had a really bad reaction to MetroGel. I started getting these weird tingling sensations all over and couldn't sleep at night. I had no idea it could cause that kind of stuff. I asked my doctor and they said it was really rare. I was lucky to find a substitute
I started using MetroGel a few weeks ago and I'm not sure if it's working. I don't see any difference but I guess it takes some time?
