Metronidazole 0.75% Vaginal Gel 70g for Bacterial Vaginosis: My Experience and a Warning for Severe Side Effects
I was recently prescribed Metronidazole 0.75% Vaginal Gel 70g to treat bacterial vaginosis. I am a few days into the treatment now. The gel is easy to apply, but I must warn anyone looking at this thread that the instructions say that the medication can cause pretty serious side effects. I've been reading about them and they give me second thoughts. Has anyone else used it and what was your experience? I’d love to hear some more personal experiences or thoughts about this antibiotic medication. I know it works to stop the bacteria but I’m honestly a bit worried and am considering speaking to my doctor again.

I had a friend who had a really bad reaction to this but was fine eventually. Before you start, make sure to talk to your doctor about any possible reactions you may have due to your medical history.
I've used it before and it worked wonders for me. Just follow the instructions and you should be fine. It cleared up my infection in no time.
I had some burning and tingling sensations after applying the gel, but it went away after a few days. Not sure if it was the gel or something else.
Be sure to finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping early can make the infection come back.
I had really bad headaches while using Metronidazole gel. I had to stop using it and switch to another treatment. Be careful and listen to your body.
I've experienced nothing but trouble with this medication. Swelling, itching, and even a burn-like sensation. I had a bad allergic reaction and had to go to the emergency room.
I know it's not the same for everyone, but I didn't have any side effects at all. It worked perfectly.
I've had bacterial vaginosis a few times — don't forget to visit the clinic again if you think you are still experiencing issues.
Just watch the side effects. My doctor told me to be on the lookout. I'm glad I pay extra attention to symptoms, reality is a lot scarier than the handouts they give you.
I experienced some mood changes and irritability when I used it. It was hard to deal with, but the infection went away so it was worth it. Make sure you talk to your doctor about any side effects you have.
