I recently started using Metronidazole 0.75% Vaginal Gel to treat bacterial vaginosis and have been experiencing some side effects. I wanted to share my experience and see if anyone else has gone through something similar. The gel is supposed to stop the growth of bacteria causing the infection, but I've been dealing with some unpleasant symptoms. I’ve had some headaches and stomach pain, which the doctor said could be due to the medication. However, I'm also concerned about the more severe side effects mentioned, like nervous system problems and mood changes. Has anyone else had issues with this medication, especially the more serious side effects? Also, how did you manage the discomfort? I’m unsure if I should continue using it or talk to my doctor about switching to something else.

Metronidazole can be a lifesaver, but it's also a bit of a wildcard. I would definitely advocate contacting your doctor, and possibly even getting a second opinion if your doctor is not taking your concerns seriously.

I had a friend who had a weird allergic reaction to this stuff. Rashes and hives all over. She had to stop using it immediately.

If your doctor gave you this, they probably think it's the best option for you. Just make sure you're communicating openly about your concerns and side effects. Trust your instincts, but also trust your doctor.

I wouldn't worry too much about the minor side effects, but if you're experiencing anything more serious, definitely get it checked out. It's better to be safe.
