I was prescribed Metronidazole 250mg Tablets for a severe bacterial infection in my intestines. I've been taking it for a week now, and while I think it's helping, the side effects are no joke. I've had some diarrhea, stomach pain, and a very upsetting metallic taste that lingers. I've also heard about some scary side effects, so I'm a bit worried. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences or if there are any tips to manage these side effects? The information I found online was a bit scary. What are the odds that I will have more severe problems like aseptic meningitis or severe skin reactions? I'm trying to stay positive, but it's hard when you hear horror stories on the internet. Anyway, I'll appreciate any advice or shared experiences. Thanks in advance!

Metronidazole is great for bacterial infections, but yeah, the side effects aren't fun. When I took it, I had some joint pain and a headache, but nothing too severe. I did get a weird rash though, but it went away on its own. Got me thinking about changing to a different medication, but docs said it was ok. Stay vigilant and keep your doctor in the loop. The metallic taste is gross! I'm only taking these because there is no other option.

I had a similar experience with Metronidazole. The metallic taste was the worst for me. I found that drinking lots of water and eating strong-flavored foods helped mask it a bit. Also, make sure to stay hydrated to counter the diarrhea. As for the serious side effects, they're rare, but always good to be aware. I never heard about any skin reactions... But my wife, yeah she had an allergic reaction to some ibuprofen, luckily her throat didn't close up... But you should contact your doctor if you notice anything unusual.

I've heard of some people experiencing seizures from Metronidazole, which is terrifying. So, it's crucial to be cautious and immediately inform your doctor if you start feeling dizzy or confused. I had a friend who developed hearing loss. I think it was on the back of the box, but I can't remember if it was one of the side effects. That's scary! I did not think antibiotics could cause that. If you smell something unfamiliar and it smells like metal, you might want to talk to your doctor.

Believe it or not this drug can really mess with your nervous system, leading to issues like seizures and tingling sensations. It's scary stuff, so definitely keep an eye out for any unusual symptoms. The doctor should have mentioned something along the lines of possible nerve damage. They should have also told you what to look out for. I think this is the only medication that can do that. My friend took this and she was never the same after.
