I started taking Mexiletine 200mg Capsules a few weeks ago for ventricular arrhythmias. I've heard some people have severe side effects, but I'm hoping to hear positive experiences if any side effects are resolved. This medication is supposed to stabilize heart rhythm. However, I've heard a lot of concern about the rare side effects like seizures and liver problems. Has anyone else experienced any of the serious side effects? How did you cope? I'm also curious about the common side effects like dizziness and tiredness. Does anyone have any tips for managing these? I don't want to stop taking it, because it's worked for my arrhythmia, but some of the side effects are pretty tough to deal with.

I had shakiness and dizziness when I started, but I spoke with my doctor and we adjusted the dosage. It's been much better since then. The key is to keep an open line of communication with your healthcare provider.

Mexiletine saved my life, but I had to deal with a lot of annoying side effects. It's worth it for me, though. Less side effects than my alternatives. I hope it works for you too. Sorry you have to deal with side effects

MXL is the only thing that works for me, too. I’ve got an implantable defibrillator that goes off without it. I’m terrified of the serious side effects, though. I’ve had some of the minor ones, but I’m taking my chances. I hope I don’t jinx myself.

I take this and it works perfectly for my heart. I take it with food to avoid the upset stomach.

I quit after a month. I was too tired to function. I had a lot of other side effects too. I hope you find something that works for you.

I'm trying to stay positive, but I'm scared. The doctor said this is the best thing for me. Maybe it works for me. So, I’m scared but taking it. Too scared to stop.

I've been on Mexiletine for a year now, and I haven't had any serious side effects. The dizziness was bad at first, but it went away after a few weeks. I'd recommend giving it some time to see if your body adjusts. Also, make sure to stay hydrated because dehydration can make the side effects worse.

I'm on day 3 and feeling really tired. Is it worth sticking it out?
