I've been prescribed Mexitil 200mg Capsules to manage my ventricular arrhythmias. The doctor said it works by stabilizing the electrical activity in the heart. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'd love to hear about any side effects you've encountered and how you've dealt with them. Also, if there are any alternatives you've switched to, I'd be curious to know your experience with those as well. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone tried other medications for arrhythmias? I'm curious if there are any that work better or have fewer side effects.

I had to stop taking it because it made me feel like I was on another planet. Like literally, it was beyond dizziness.

If you experience shortness of breath, swelling in arms/legs, or significant weight gain, call your doctor. These can indicate worsening heart failure.

I've tried both Mexitil and Flecainide. Flecainide worked better for me with fewer side effects. It's worth discussing with your cardiologist.

I've been on Mexitil for about a year now. The first few weeks were rough with dizziness and nausea, but it's manageable now. Just make sure to stay hydrated and listen to your body.

Be careful and monitor your liver. I had to stop taking Mexitil because of serious liver issues. Worst experience ever, contact your doctor immediately if symptoms occur.

I switched to Propafenone because Mexitil was too harsh on my liver. The change has been good so far, but everyone's body is different.
