I was prescribed Miconazole Nitrate 2% Top CR 28gm for a persistent case of athlete's foot. I've been using it for a week now, and while it seems to be working, I've experienced some side effects. I was hoping to hear from others who have used this topical cream and see if my experience is normal. What are some of the common side effects you've encountered? Did anyone here experience any severe reactions? Also, how long did it take for the fungus to completely go away?

I think it really depends on the severity of the infection and how long you've had it. I used Miconazole for about 2 weeks, and it cleared up completely.

I've had great success with Miconazole. I apply it twice a day, in the morning and before bed. I also make sure to keep the area dry throughout the day to speed up healing.

My dermatologist said it works best when you pair it with an antifungal powder. It helps keep the area dry and prevents the fungus from spreading.

I've used this a few times and it worked well each time. Just be patient, it takes a week or two to see results.

This stuff is life-saving. Great for jock itch too, though it's a bit embarrassing to buy it at the store.

I had a really bad reaction to this stuff. I broke out in hives and had trouble breathing. I had to go to the ER. If you experience any severe symptoms, don't wait to seek medical attention. And it's likely better to try something else for mild athlete's foot before jumping to stronger treatments.

Did you use it as directed? I always apply after a shower and make sure it’s a thin layer, with no excess rubbing or anything else. This helped me avoid the burning sensation.

I used it for a yeast infection and it cleared up in about 3 days. Make sure you change your socks and underwear daily to keep the area clean — and avoid sharing socks, that’s just a bad idea regardless! My pharmacist told me about a couple of tricks to keep it from spreading.

I had a mild burning sensation when I first applied it, but it went away after a few days. Make sure to wash your hands after application and avoid contact with others.
