I recently switched to Microgestin 1.5/30 FE Tablets 28s for birth control and I'm curious to hear from others who have taken this medication. I've noticed some changes in my menstrual cycle and I'm wondering if these are normal side effects or if I should be concerned. Have any of you experienced similar issues? Also, I've been a bit worried about the potential urgent side effects listed. How common are these, and should I be more vigilant about monitoring for them? I'm looking for any advice or shared experiences that might help me navigate this transition.

Make sure you’re not confusing normal side effects with the severe ones. I had a friend who had to go to the ER because she didn’t know the difference between mild spotting and severe vaginal bleeding. Always better to be safe than sorry!

I'm new to Reddit! How do I report side effects to the FDA?

I’ve read that the iron in the last 7 pills can help with anemia, but I didn’t realize it was such a common problem for women. Anyone else notice a difference in your energy levels after switching to Microgestin?

Avoid sun exposure if you experience dark patches on the face. It’s a known side effect and can be minimized with sunscreen and protective clothing.

You can report side effects to the FDA at 1-800-332-1088 or online at https://www.fda.gov/medwatch. It's important to document everything and keep track of any changes in your body.

Microgestin can be tricky at first because everyone reacts differently. I had some stomach cramps at the beginning but they went away after a couple of months. I’ve been advised to take them consistently and keep a food journal to track diet-related side effects. My doctor also recommended taking a daily multivitamin to combat any nutrient deficiencies.

I've been on Microgestin for a few months and I've had some spotting between periods. My doctor said it's normal and should go away soon. Have you talked to your doctor about it? Mine recommended taking the pills at the same time every day to help regulate the cycle.

Some people report severe mood changes. I know someone who had to stop taking it because of depression. Keep an eye out for any drastic changes in your mood or behavior. Consult your doctor right away if you notice anything alarming.

I started on Microgestin last month and also had some stomach issues. Tried taking it with food and it seems to have helped. Definitely worth talking to your doctor about timing and food. Also don't forget to report side effects to the FDA.
