I've been prescribed Modafinil 100mg tablets for my shift work sleep disorder. It's been a game-changer for staying alert during my night shifts, but I've been reading about some concerning side effects. Has anyone else experienced anything serious? I'm particularly worried about the rare but severe side effects like skin reactions or heart problems. How common are these really, and should I be worried? Also, how do you manage the more mild side effects like headaches or trouble sleeping?

I tried Modafinil but the increased anxiety was too much for me. I think it's worth trying if you need it, but be aware that it might not be all roses and sunshine for you.

I had some psychotic like symptoms where I started thinking I was superior to everyone else, but no hallucinations. I stopped taking it immediately. I'm not sure if it was the Modafinil, but I'm not risking it.

My doctor actually started me on a lower dose to see how I react, so I'm just on 50mg for now. Apparently that reduces the risk of side effects. Has anyone else tried this?

I had a friend who took Modafinil and ended up in the ER with some kind of skin reaction. It was scary. I’m not sure I’d want to risk it myself.

I think Modafinil is amazing but scary at the same time. You have to be really careful and listen to your body. Side effects are rare but they can be devastating if they happen to you.

I can't speak for the skin reactions, but I got pretty intense back pain. Turns out it was a rare side effect, but my doctor switched me to another med and it went away.

I've been on Modafinil for a while and haven't had any major issues. Just the occasional headache, but that's manageable with some ibuprofen.

Honestly, I think the benefits outweigh the risks for me. I can't function without it, and I haven’t had any major issues. Just keep an eye out for those serious symptoms, like changes in behavior or hallucinations. Better safe than sorry.

I've never had any serious side effects. Just the usual stuff like headache and trouble sleeping but nothing that a good night's rest couldn't fix. I'd say just keep an eye out and talk to your doctor regularly.

I've heard that the severe side effects are rare, but when they happen, they can be really bad. It's important to stay vigilant and know the signs. I had to stop taking it because of anxiety and nervousness, but everyone's different.
