My doctor prescribed me Mupirocin 2% Cream 30gm to treat my impetigo. I've used it for a few days and it seems to be working, but I'm curious about the potential side effects. Has anyone else used this and experienced any issues? Additionally, I've heard that antibiotic ointments can cause allergic reactions. Any advice on how to spot these signs?

I'm also wondering if it's safe to use this on my face, as the infection is particularly bad there. I'm worried about scarring or further irritation. I'm currently applying it exactly as my doctor instructed, but I’m not sure if there are any additional precautions I should be taking.

Any advice or shared experiences would be super helpful! Thank you.

I heard that sometimes the burning sensation when you apply it can be quite intense. Is anyone else experiencing this? I've been using it for 2 days and it feels pretty awful, even though it's working. I'm just wondering if it gets better over time. Also, I've been wondering if you can use it while you're pregnant, I guess it would be good to know for any future pregnancies. I'm not pregnant, but was just curious. I got pregnant, and I needed to use Mupirocin a few months ago. My doctor said it's generally considered safe, but as I said, I'd still check with yours to be sure. Don’t just take my word for it!

I haven't used Mupirocin, but I had to deal with a similar infection. I used a different antibiotic cream that worked really well for me. As long as you're prescribed antibiotics and they're working, I think you're doing the right thing. I'm not sure what your doctor’s recommendation is, but I would follow the best advice!

I had a really bad reaction to it last time I used it. It's worth being cautious and monitoring for any signs of allergic reaction. I got red, swollen skin and some hives which were quite alarming. I'd recommend using it in a small area first, as a test run, just to be safe. I didn't actually have hives, but my skin was pretty irritated for a while. As for facial use, I haven't used it on my face myself, but I would definitely ask your doctor first to avoid any potential skin damage.

Just be careful where you apply it. I once got some on my finger and then rubbed my eye, which was a super uncomfortable experience.

Make sure you clean the area thoroughly before applying it. It makes a big difference in how well it works. If it’s that effective, how come you haven’t heard of it? It’s not one of those medications you hear about all the time. Just my two cents. Use it, clean the area, and I’m sure it could work for you too.

When I first started using it, I had a bit of itching and mild pain when I applied it. But it was like my body adjusted to it, and now I don't get any more of those issues. Plus, it seems to be really helping clear up my impetigo. I would say just give it a few days and see if your body adjusts to it.

I used it on a bad cut I got while gardening, and it worked wonders. Just make sure you don’t get it on your eyes or mouth. Is it worth the money? I'd say yes, but just make sure you follow the instructions closely, or it could aggravate the skin even worse. My cut healed so quickly afterwards, and I was really impressed.
