My dad just started using Triptodur 22.5mg Inj, 1 Vial for his prostate cancer treatment. The doctor explained that it lowers testosterone levels to slow down the cancer growth. But as his daughter I've been reading about the side effects and I'm really scared. Some of these like raised pressure in the brain, mood changes, and severe allergic reactions sound really serious. Did anyone else's family member experience something similar, and how did you manage it? What kind of support should I be ready to offer? I just want to be prepared for whatever might happen.

Take it one day at a time. It's easy to get overwhelmed by all the information, but try to focus on the present. If side effects happen, tackle them as they come. You're doing a great job by being proactive and informed.

My husband had some vision problems. He would see double vision or feel like there was pressure in his head. His doctor put him on medicine to control it, and it works well enough that he doesn't notice it anymore. Best of luck to your dad, though.

I know it's hard, but try not to worry too much until there's an actual issue to address. My dad was on a hormone therapy similar to this and he had some irritation at the injection site and mild hot flashes, but nothing too severe. Your dad might not have any problems or maybe just a few minor ones. Lots of people are able to manage it without major problems.

I know how scary this can be. Remember that the doctor will monitor your dad closely for any signs of these side effects. They can help him manage them and adjust the treatment if needed. Make sure to attend all the appointments and ask questions if anything concerns you.
