I was administered Demerol 50mg/ml Inj, 1ml during my recent surgery and it was a life saver in terms of pain relief. The nurse told me it's similar to morphine and I can see why. However, I was really sick and dizzy afterwards. I feel like I could've slept for days after the procedure. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what I can take to manage the nausea and woozy feeling? Should I ask my doctor about an additive I can take with the Demerol, or is it best to handle it with some over-the-counter medicines?

I was prescribed something similar after a car accident, and honestly, it was the best pain killer I've ever had. But yeah, the side effects were rough.

Demerol can be tough on the stomach. Maybe try some ginger tea or candied ginger to help settle it.

Be careful with mixing meds. Always check with your doctor first. Better safe than sorry!

Just make sure you're staying hydrated. That can help with some of the side effects.

I experienced the same thing. My doctor prescribed me some anti-nausea meds to take after the Demerol. Works like a charm!

I heard Demerol isn't commonly prescribed these days because of its side effects. Maybe ask your doctor about other options?

I took Demerol after a c-section and it knocked me out cold. I slept for 12 hours straight. Definitely worth it for the pain relief though.

I worked in a hospital and saw a lot of people on Demerol. Just be careful, it's easy to become dependant.
