My Dermatologist Prescribed Triamcinolone 0.1% Ointment 30gm for My Eczema - What Do I Need to Know?
I've been struggling with eczema for years, and my dermatologist finally prescribed Triamcinolone 0.1% Ointment 30gm. I've read that it's a corticosteroid and should help with the itching and redness, but I'm a bit nervous about the side effects. Has anyone else used this? What was your experience like? I'm particularly worried about the risk of allergic reactions and high blood sugar, as I have a family history of diabetes. Also, how long should I expect to use this before seeing improvements? Any advice or personal stories would be greatly appreciated!

Triamcinolone is one of those medications where you gotta be patient. Don’t stop using it too soon, but also don’t overuse it. It’s a balance.
I’ve been using it for months now. Itchiness and redness are almost completely gone. Honestly, it's a lifesaver if you're dealing with severe eczema. Just make sure to follow your doctor's instructions.
I used Triamcinolone for my psoriasis and it worked wonders! It took about a week to see significant improvement, but make sure to use it exactly as prescribed. I had some minor skin irritation at first, but it went away quickly.
Be careful with this stuff. I had a bad reaction to it and ended up with hives all over. I had to go to the ER and everything, but that was just my experience. Definitely keep an eye out for any signs of an allergic reaction.
My doctor told me that if I notice any signs of high blood sugar or adrenocortical insufficiency, I should stop treatment immediately. Definitely worth keeping an eye out for
I've heard that long-term use can cause skin thinning. Has anyone experienced this?
Just started using it. Hope it works as well for me as it seems to for others. Fingers crossed!
You should definitely be careful with corticosteroid ointments. They can mess with your hormone levels if not used properly. Just something to keep in mind.
Triamcinolone can be great, but it’s important to monitor your blood sugar levels if you have a family history of diabetes. Corticosteroids can raise blood sugar, so keep an eye on that.
