My doctor prescribed me Olanzapine/fluoxetine 12-25mg Caps to treat my bipolar depression. I've started taking it but I'm a bit nervous about the side effects. I've read about the potential for serious reactions such as serotonin syndrome or abnormal heartbeats. Has anyone else had any concerning experiences? Any tips on how to manage these side effects safely? I want to make sure I'm taking this medication correctly and staying on the safe side. What should I be doing to stay safe, or what should I be looking out for? Also, does anyone know how long the medication takes to start working?

I had a bad experience with Olanzapine/fluoxetine 12-25mg Caps. I developed a rash and had to stop taking it. Make sure you monitor your skin closely and let your doctor know if you see anything unusual. If you experience pain or swelling in your body, or if your body temperature is too high, you may have an allergic reaction to the medicine. always good to be safe.

I am on this medication for it very rare severe side effects that it is linked to. I think it is better to know the risks and how to monitor than to be completely unaware, but I hope this thread helps you and others stay informed.

I had some dizziness and fatigue at first, but it subsided after a few weeks. Everyone's different, so just pay attention to how your body responds.

I've been on this combo for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer for my mood stability. Just make sure to stay in close contact with your doctor and report any weird symptoms right away. My doc had me monitor my blood sugar levels regularly at first, but it's been smooth sailing so far.

How often do you need to check in with your doctor when you start this med?
