I've been using Atropine eye drops for a couple of weeks now to treat my child's lazy eye condition. They are prescribed to dilate the pupil and temporarily paralyze the focusing muscle of the eye to help improve vision. I've got some concerns about side-effects, though. If you have used this medication that way, I'd love to hear your experiences.

I've had some trouble finding detailed information about the long-term effects of using this medication for amblyopia treatment. Most resources talk about short-term use for eye exams or minor inflammation, but not long-term use.

If anyone can shine some light on their experience, or point me to some detailed information on long-term side-effects, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Yeah, the dry mouth and throat are the worst. I had to keep sipping water constantly. And the blurred vision was really annoying. I've had side-effects with other medications, but this is one of the worst.

I've used Atropine Sulf 1% Oph Soln for my son's lazy eye treatment. The most challenging part was dealing with the blurred vision and light sensitivity. Make sure to have sunglasses handy!

I've seen some studies suggesting that Atropine can help with myopia progression in kids. Anyone have experience with that?

I had a really bad reaction to these drops. I experienced severe headaches and felt flushed. It was scary. I had to rush to the ER.

I used these drops for an eye exam, and they worked great. No issues whatsoever. Maybe they react differently based on the condition being treated?

So glad I found this thread. I've been considering using these drops for my daughter's amblyopia, but I'm a bit worried about the side effects. I think I'll talk to my doctor and see if it's worth it.

The blurry vision can be a nightmare. When I first used these drops, it took me an hour to get used to it. It’s not the worst, but it's enough to make the treatment feel miserable. And I had to be extra careful on driving.

My experience was okay. I didn't have any major side effects, but I did get dry eyes and a bit of irritation. Talking to your doctor about managing these symptoms is a good idea.

I had a friend who had a severe allergic reaction to these drops. It's scary stuff. They ended up in the hospital. Be super cautious and keep an eye out for unusual symptoms.

I had no idea these could cause restlessness and irritability. Good to know, thanks for sharing!
