I work in a hospital, and we use Bupivacaine quite often. It's generally well-tolerated, but we always monitor patients for any signs of those serious side effects. It's rare, but it can happen.
I've seen a few patients with spinal-related side effects. It's scary, but again, it's rare. Just make sure to communicate any concerns with your doctor.
My wife had it for a minor surgery. She had some mild sweating and was a bit nervous, but overall, it was a good experience. Just be prepared for the temporary numbness.
I had it for a C-section and it worked great. I was able to move around a bit after the delivery and didn't feel any pain. Was looking to see if someone listed 'breast-feeding' as a side effect, but didn't see that. Anyone?
I've had Bupivacaine a few times for dental procedures. It works great for numbing, but the tingling sensation afterwards is a bit weird. Never had any serious side effects, though.
