My experience with Carbidopa/levodopa ODT: The good, the bad, and the unexpected!
First of all, I am glad I found this forum, it is filled with so much useful information which has been very helpful for me. I have been taking Carbidopa/levodopa ODT 25-100mg for about 6 months now for my Parkinson's. At first, I was a bit skeptical about the orally disintegrating tablets, but they've been a game-changer. No more struggling with water or pills—it just dissolves in my mouth. My tremors have significantly reduced, and I feel more mobile. However, I've experienced some side effects like nausea and vivid dreams at night. My doctor assured me these are common and should subside. I'm curious if anyone else has had similar experiences or any tips on managing side effects?

I've noticed that my skin has been discoloring a bit, and my clothes are stained. Is this normal? I thought it was just me, but it seems like a legit side effect. I'm not sure why it isn't listed but I've been seeing it with some people.
Same here. I use discoloration remover on my clothes now.
I've been on Carbidopa/levodopa for years, and the ODT version is definitely more convenient. I wish I had started with it sooner!
I started experiencing really vivid dreams and even some nightmares. It was so strange at first. My doctor told me it's a common side effect, but it's still unsettling.
Make sure you don't drive or operate heavy machinery if you're feeling sleepy. It can hit you like a truck, and it's not worth the risk.
I had a really bad reaction to this medicine. I started having hallucinations and it was terrifying. Had to switch to something else.
I feel like my mood swings have gotten worse since starting this medication. Has anyone else experienced this? It's been tough to manage.
I'm new to this medication and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. What are the most common ones you've experienced and how long did they last?
I had really bad constipation at first, but my doctor recommended increasing my fiber intake and drinking more water. It helped a lot. Also, make sure you take it with food to avoid stomach issues.
