I was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and my oncologist prescribed Carmustine 300mg Inj. I was quite nervous about starting chemotherapy, so I did some research and found out that Carmustine is used to treat various cancers, especially brain tumors, by damaging the cancer cells' DNA. It's administered through an IV infusion, which sounds intense but my doctor assured me it's a standard procedure. I wanted to share my experience and see if anyone else has gone through this? How did you manage the side effects? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard that some people experience extreme fatigue or weakness. I'm glad I work from home now. I couldn’t imagine dealing with this while trying to keep a 9-5 job.

My friend went through this and her advice was to wear a wig before you lose your hair. It helped her feel normal and confident even when she was feeling her worst.

I found that keeping a food journal helped manage my decreased appetite. I'd note what I could stomach and when, so my family could help me eat that around the same time every day.

Watch out for those kidney problems. I had to be careful with what I ate and drank. Drink plenty of water but avoid anything too heavy or processed.

I had a seizure during my treatment. I had no idea it could cause seizures. Be cautious, and make sure your caregivers know the signs.

Be prepared for some serious fatigue. I felt like I could sleep for days after each treatment. Also, keep an eye out for any signs of infection—my immune system was a mess for a while.

I had Carmustine for my lymphoma. The worst part was the nausea and hair loss, but my doctor gave me some meds to help with that. Stay hydrated and listen to your body.

I had an allergic reaction during my first infusion. Symptoms like rash, itching, and swelling. I was rushed to the ER and now they give me a pre-med to prevent it. Be vigilant about any unusual symptoms.
